Chelsea v Sunderland for top African gong

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Sunderland's Asamoah Gyan have been named as finalists for Africa's 2010 Player of the Year award.

Drogba, the current holder, won the Premier League title last season and finished as the league's top scorer with 29 goals in 32 games.

Gyan's career in England has started well with six goals for the Black Cats following his excellent showing for Ghana who reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in South Africa.

Drogba and Gyan are joined by Inter Milan's Samuel Eto'o of Cameroon, who won an Italian league, cup and Champions League treble with Inter Milan earlier this year. 2010.
