Chelsea plan to use Didier Drogba as a bargaining chip in negotiations for AC Milan star Alexandre Pato.
talkSPORT says reports in Italy claim the clubs are in advanced talks with Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti prepared to sanction a deal worth £18m plus Drogba in part-exchange.
Neither club has commented about the transfer talk but Ancelotti is a known admirer of the Brazilian player from his time in charge at the San Siro and he is looking to freshen up his Chelsea squad.
Drogba has also been linked with Real Madrid in a swap for Kaka.
