Chelsea U-turn as Diego Costa contract talks planned

Chelsea have moved to open new contract talks with Diego Costa.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports Chelsea are ready to hand the striker a new deal.

Costa has been the subject of interest from the Chinese Super League and former club Atletico Madrid.

However, Di Marzio suggests that the forward could now stay at Stamford Bridge - and that Chelsea are taking steps to ensure that happens.

It is said that Costa dreams of winning the Champions League - meaning he is not ready to move to the Far East just yet.

Chelsea are willing to offer him wages of £15 million per year and that manager Antonio Conte himself is playing a big role in whether or not Costa stays.
