Chelsea have approached Manchester United for Phil Jones.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea have made an enquiry into United's Jones and he could be an alternative if they fail to land PSG defender David Luiz before the transfer deadline.

They say Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester have all signalled their interest in the 24-year-old over the summer as well.

Stoke have also made it known that they are interested in the former Blackburn ace.

But the reports add that United are reluctant to loan their star to a title rival and Jones looks set to stay put at Old Trafford and fight for a first-team place.
