Chelsea transfers adviser Piet de Visser would love to see Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi at Stamford Bridge. De Visser is close to Blues owner Roman Abramovich and continues to advise them on transfers.

"As a football fan, it would be great to see him (Messi) with Chelsea. I've always been a Messi fan, since he was a 13-year-old from Argentina and went to Barcelona.

"Messi is obviously a phenomenon and also only 27," De Visser told De Telegraaf.

"In the past, the name of Messi has often been discussed at Chelsea, but he was always too expensive. If Roman Abramovich really wants him, he can of course do anything.

"But whether he's serious, I cannot say.

"I'm in Ghana and I have had no contact with the club for a while. If I knew, I would indeed not be allowed to talk to the press."
