Chelsea top brass remain behind Conte; injuries key factor

Chelsea's top brass are standing by manager Antonio Conte, it has been revealed.

Despite their thumping defeat at Roma, the Mirror says Conte's stock at Stamford Bridge remains high, with sympathy upstairs for the injuries and setbacks that have played havoc with the club's campaign.

This news comes after it was claimed yesterday that a row with a top exec had Chelsea officials branding Conte a "dead man walking".

N'Golo Kante has been out for three weeks, Victor Moses remains on the sidelines and Danny Drinkwater only made his Chelsea debut last week - all setbacks that have been factored in by Blues officials.

Conte admitted yesterday midfielder Kante could yet be out for Sunday's game with Manchester United.

"After an important muscular problem, it would be stupid to risk it, so when Kante feels at 100 per cent, he will return to playing," Conte stated.
