Chelsea could use Juventus' interest in Nemanja Matic to revive a deal for fullback Alex Sandro.
Chelsea are understood to have had a £61m bid for the Brazil international rejected by Juve.
The Serie A side's readiness to keep hold of Sandro comes after the exits of Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves to AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain respectively.
But the Telegraph says Chelsea are not prepared to give up on the pursuit of Sandro.
And the report says Chelsea may use Juventus' interest in Matic to reach an agreement.
The Serbia international, who made 40 appearances last season, was left out of Chelsea's pre-season tour and looks set to lose his place in the team after the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
