Chelsea are prepared to offer Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic a pay rise to sit on the bench at Stamford Bridge as the Blues seek a replacement for Petr Cech.
Having seen club legend Cech move to London rivals Arsenal earlier this week, Jose Mourinho has been forced into the transfer market to sign a back-up to first choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Mourinho is believed to be keen to sign a goalkeeper of quality, with Begovic rated at £10million by Stoke.
According to The Standard, Chelsea are prepared to offer the Bosnian international £75,000 a week as Courtois' back-up – a large amount of money for a reserve goalkeeper.
Chelsea are still in negotiations with Stoke over a transfer fee.
