Chelsea to burn off Arsenal, Man City for Hamburg whizkid Jann-Fiete Arp

Chelsea are pursuing a deal for Hamburg whizkid Jann-Fiete Arp.

The Mirror says the 17-year-old is rated as one of the best striking prospects in the Bundesliga and has already made his first-team debut and found his way onto the scoresheet.

He was offered the chance to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer but decided against the move as he wanted to gain more experience and Chelsea stepped back.

However, the Blues' interest has remained and despite interest emerging from rivals Manchester City and Arsenal – the Premier League champions believe they have snared the youngster.

Hamburg president Heribert Bruchhagen previously ruled out a departure.

"He will stay with us. His advisor Jürgen Milewski has promised me and sporting director Jens Todt," Bruchhagen told Bild. "He will develop with us."
