Chelsea tie up deal with Japanese financial services company

Ahead of the team's participation in the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan, Chelsea have signed a sponsorship deal with Japanese financial services company Orient Corporation (Orico), reports SportsPro. Orico specialises in entertainment-themed credit cards and, in its new designation as Chelsea's Japanese financial services partner, the company will issue co-branded payment cards featuring the Chelsea logo in Japan.

The special issue cards will include benefits such as entry into prize draws and, according to the press release, 'a free Chelsea postcard each month.'

The Blues are due to begin their Fifa Club World Cup campaign, for which they qualified by winning the Uefa Champions League last season, on Thursday 13th December.

The club launched a Japanese language website in September.
