Atletico Madrid have made an opening bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Atletico - and Courtois - are attempting to convince Chelsea to let them keep hold of the Belgian, now in his third season on-loan at the Vicente Calderon.

Sport says Atletico tabled a €15 million offer to Chelsea for Courtois last week, which was immediately thrown out.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is yet to make a final decision on the young keeper for next season.
