Chelsea threaten West Brom hold on Clarke

West Bromwich Albion fear losing manager Steve Clarke to Chelsea.

The Daily Star says West Brom will offer boss Clarke a new contract in a bid to fend off the Special One.

Clarke spent three years as No.2 to Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and there are rumours of a summer reunion with his old boss, who looks set to return to England.

Clarke, 49, has distanced himself from the rumours but Albion want to ward off all interest in his services after his impressive debut season at the helm.
