Chelsea are stepping up their youth programme.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea are now targeting kids as young as five to join their football development centres.

There are eight centres devoted to young footballers with a proportion of the 300 children receiving coaching aged under six.

At the Chelsea centre in Aldershot, the majority of the five-year-olds have graduated from the local franchise of Socatots - set up by innovative former Southampton coach Simon Clifford - that starts with toddlers.
