Robinho is a step closer to a Real Madrid exit after he was blocked by playing for Brazil at next month's Beijing Olympics.

The Brazilian's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, admitted that the player "broke down crying when he learned that he could not go to the Games".

Chelsea are continuing their pursuit of Robinho, whose relationship with Madrid management remains fractured.
