Monaco midfielder Jerko Leko is on the verge of an exit from the club as his link with Chelsea grows stronger.

The 29-year old Croatia international has struggled for game time with the French club this season and seeking an exit so he can begin a fresh challenge, potentially in England despite the fact his contract expires in June 2011.

"I can't be satisfied with so few first team opportunities," he told L'Equipe.

"I am not a 20-year-old anymore. I have contacts in England and Germany and I want to discover something new."
