Chelsea in talks with India football powerbrokers

Blues chief executive Peter Kenyon took time out from his duties as a London Ambassador on the Mayor of London's trip to India, to meet with AIFF president P.R. Dasmunsi and general secretary Alberto Colaco.

The meeting took place at the Indian Parliament as President Dasmunsi is also a senior minister in the Indian Government.

Kenyon told the club's website: "The purpose of the talks was to get a better understanding of Indian football.

"The talks were very informative and both sides have taken some ideas away and we will have further discussions in the future about how Chelsea can potentially work to help develop Indian football.

"There is a very long history and heritage in Indian football that many in England would not be aware of and the AIFF are very committed to building on this.

"Indians are also extremely knowledgeable about the Premier League and Chelsea in particular."

President Dasmunsi was presented with an engraved silver plate with the Chelsea badge to celebrate the meeting and a Chelsea shirt with his name on the back.
