Chelsea are willing to better the current deal of Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
Manolas is a signing request made by Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to replace Antonio Conte as new Blues manager by the end of the month.
Corriere dello Sport says Chelsea are now in contact with Manolas and have informed him they're willing to meet his €36m buyout clause. Personal terms have also been submitted.
Chelsea are offering Manolas a contract worth €5m-a-year. He is currently earning €3m-a-year with the Giallorossi.
The Greece defender only penned his current deal in December and leaving Roma for Chelsea would mean sacrificing a season in the Champions League.
