Chelsea are competing with Newcastle United for Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella. The Sunday Sun says Toon officials were in France last week, when the 24-year-old expressed a willingness to move to Tyneside and sources indicated a £6 million offer had been lodged.
Newcastle are prepared to increase that bid to £8 million.
But with Chelsea - who could hand Cabella £90,000-a-week - having joined the likes of Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for the talented midfielder, Montpellier president Louis Nicollin is holding out for around £11 million.
