AC Milan have rejected a "significant" offer from Chelsea for their young defender Alessio Romagnoli, reports the London Evening Standard.
But despite Chelsea offering a sizeable sum to Milan to try and lure 21-year-old Romagnoli to Stamford Bridge - with some reports suggesting the Blues have bid £30million - the club have rejected the offer.
In a statement released on their official website on Thursday, Milan wrote: "AC Milan has received a significant offer for its player Alessio Romagnoli from Chelsea FC.
"The player is not for sale, therefore this negotiation will not continue. The club wants to thank Chelsea FC with whom we will continue to have a great working relationship."
