Chelsea striker Fernando Torres was thrilled to play at the Vicente Calderon last night.
The former Atletico Madrid captain was given a warm welcome back by fans during the Champions League semifinal first-leg draw.
"My return could not be more special," said Torres afterwards. "Returning to the Calderón in a semifinal of the Champions League is too good to be true. During the game you are focused and you focus on the competition with your opponents, that's what I've learned.
"From childhood I've been Atleti.
"What I've seen before and after the game was spectacular. I will be always grateful to the Atletico fans for their unconditional support."
