Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is delighted with the way his season turned out for club and country.
Torres has had a torrid time for Chelsea this season but also played his part in the Blues' Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, coming on as a sub.
He also became the first player to score in two European Championship Finals, having also hit the winner against Germany four years ago.
"It was a complicated season with very difficult moments," said the £50m man. "And to see my family happy after the match, whatever happened during the season is worth it.
"After a year which was so tough and complicated and during which we suffered so much, it made it all worth it.
"I will leave this difficult season behind. I will remember the three titles, with this final which was so beautiful for the team, the whole country and everyone who follows Spain.
"I am sure the fans of Chelsea will be happy too.
"There is a lot more left in this team to achieve. Most players are still very young and I can tell you we have so much left to achieve ahead of us."
