Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has been overlooked by Spain coach Vincente del Bosque for the friendly against Uruguay.

Swansea striker Michu also missed out despite his superb form.

Del Bosque said: "Torres is one of our most experienced players at international level, but neither could we find a space for him now.

"David is a unique case - no one has had a nine-month injury, no one scored five goals in the last World Cup.

"And no one has contributed for us as much."
