Chelsea striker Torres: Man Utd must give De Gea time to adjust

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres says David De Gea will prove his class at Manchester United - if afforded the time.

Torres says his fellow ex-Atletico Madrid star had to be given time to become attuned to the different demands of the English game.

"In Spain, the keepers are very protected from the referees," said Torres. "It's a massive difference in England, when the strikers or defenders can block the keeper and it's just, 'Play on.'

"I am sure he's trying to improve that part, but it's not easy."
