Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro wants to sign permanently with Werder Bremen.
The Peru striker is currently on a season-long deal at the Weser Stadion but would relish the chance to stay longer.
"Yes, it is true, I am interested in staying at Bremen for longer," he told Kicker.
Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs also confirmed he would like Pizarro to stay.
"Claudio has told us that he wants to stay," he said. "We have to be patient but we would also like to keep Claudio here."
Pizarro played for Bremen with distinction between 1999 and 2001 before leaving for Bayern Munich and then Chelsea, with whom he is under contract until 2011.
