Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud enjoyed a swipe at England after lifting the World Cup with France.

Giroud had a final joke at England's expense after insisting France can begin a new football revolution.

“I mean 'it's coming home'!" laughed Giroud. “I had to say that. We deserved it and we wanted to show everyone we could do it."

He also stated: “We really wanted it because it was 20 years ago. We really wanted to do it ourselves after the amazing generation they had with Zinedine Zidane and other players.

“We are very proud to be part of it. We had a little bit of pressure but we wanted to show everybody that we ca do it even if we are young… and that's it.
