Chelsea striker Diego Costa has called Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, it has been revealed.

AS says Costa is trying to handle the situation by contacting Atletico manager Simeone for last-ditch talks.

According to the report, Brazil-born Costa communicated to Argentine boss Simeone a request for more time over the deal.

Costa is currently with the Chelsea squad on their pre-season tour of the USA.

Chelsea have refused talks with Atletico and manager Antonio Conte does not want to sell his star striker.
