The Senegal international is relaxed about his role at Chelsea and accepts that he is not going to be an automatic starter every week.
He said: "It doesn't matter to me what formation we play, whether we have one up front or two.
"If I have to play with Fernando Torres I'll play with him, if I have to be on the bench I'll be on the bench and wait for the chance.
"And if the manager puts me on the pitch I'll prove I can play. And that's all there is to it.
"At Chelsea you have world-class players who understand football perfectly. I saw that every time I played against them but to play in the same team as them is something different.
"You just have to make the runs and the ball comes to your feet. They create good spaces and make the right passes. They are intelligent in their game so they make it easier for me.
"I just try to run in behind and create space for them as well. I know that when they have some space they will be very dangerous.
"I have no idea yet what I can achieve with Chelsea. I'll see what happens in the next weeks and months. I'm just looking to learn about the players and style of play."
