Chelsea striker Demba Ba visited his former Newcastle United teammates while they were in London for Saturday's draw at West Ham United.

He made a £7million move from the North East in January.

Ba, 27, said: "I went to see them at the hotel and I tried to give them a bit of motivation because I wouldn't like to see them go down.

"Newcastle have the qualities. There isn't a lot missing for the team to get out of the situation and I hope they will. They are all motivating each other and talking to each other."
