Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka was delighted to be named Barclays Player of the Month for November last week.
"[The award] means a lot because if you win it means you are playing well with your club. As a striker I score goals and I am very glad to win this trophy," he told chelseafc.com.
"Of course, when you play you try to do your best on the pitch and I am playing in a good team, and I think that it is working for me. It's important because you need to be happy in your football and your life so I'm glad.
"We have a lot of big players and they know me better than last year, how to give me the ball and how I play and that's why I'm in good form."
Thirteen of the Frenchman's strikes have come in league action this season, offering hope that he will beat his previous record of 17.
"I hope I will score more goals than now, but this is not the most important thing for me. That is Chelsea, to win something in the end of the season and I will try to do the same and hope I will win something," he said.
