Chelsea strike terms with Lukaku; push Everton to drop price

Chelsea remain determined to close a deal for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Daily Star says Lukaku remains Chelsea's No.1 striker target despite suggestions they are also keen on Manchester United target Alvaro Morata.

The Blues have agreed terms of in excess of £150,000 with the Belgian striker return to Stamford Bridge.

Everton say they want a world record £100m for the 24-year-old.

But Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich won't sanction paying so much for a player they sold to the Toffees for £28m three years ago.

Negotiations look set to drag on through the summer, leading to speculation the west Londoners could turn to Real Madrid hitman Morata.

But a source close to the club insisted last night: “Lukaku is still the one they want."
