Chelsea are ready to step up their bid for Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea have had scouts track the 20 year-old centre-half this season.

The 6ft 4ins defender has already attracted scouts from Manchester City and Juventus in recent months.

Diakhaby has featured four times for Lyon in Ligue 1 this season, as well as playing the full 90 minutes twice as the French side beat Everton both times in the Europa League group stage.

The French defender has helped guide Lyon to third place in the French top flight after 12 games.
