Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle admits he grew up a big Ajax fan.

Schurrle, despite his German ties, is a huge fan of the 'Dutch soccer school'.

"My first shirt was Ajax," he revealed. "I just nagged my father for as long as it took until I got one. The Ajax shorts and a pair of socks from Ajax were also given to me."

Schurrle admits the 1995 Champions League winning team of Ajax inspired him to take up the game.

"It was fantastic football. I was so impressed that I had to have an Ajax shirt. I want to thank my father for that."
