Cesc Fabregas is due to win his 100th cap for Spain during this round of international games.
The Chelsea midfielder has 98 national team appearances for La Furia Roja and if he features in Friday's Euro2016 qualifier against Luxembourg in Spain, he is likely to run out for the 100th time against Ukraine in Kiev on Monday.
Regarding the potential milestone, 28-year-old said: "I would be delighted to reach that number, hopefully I can.
"I hope to do it as soon as possible. One hundred games in 10 years since I made my debut is a lot.
"From this generation there's going to be a lot of players with 100 games. (Santi) Cazorla (75), (Sergio) Busquets (79), (David) Silva (91). I'm not going to be the only one to reach 100 games."
