Gary Cahill believes England played well enough to defeat Germany tonight.
The Three Lions lost 1-0 to the Germans in a friendly in Dortmund despite dominating large portions of the contest and creating the better chances.
But ultimately, England were not clinical enough to sour Lukas Podolski's final international appearance with the Galatasaray striker firing home a screamer in the 69th minute.
Cahill told ITV Sport: "If you are looking at chances we had the better chances in the game.
"Simple as that.
"We will look back and reflect, if we take our chances we win that game if we are clinical in front of goal. We played well today, controlled the first half."
Regarding the horrible events that occurred in London earlier on Wednesday, Cahill added: "Obviously that's terrible but we had to focus on the job we had to do.
"We gave a good account of ourselves.
"We did that for large periods of the game we have to be patient, we've gone with that formation for the first time.
"We've had one day when we've been out on the training pitch, it's difficult. There's a lot of positives from that."
