Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is ready to make his first cash signing this summer with a £4 million bid for Feyenoord wing-back Royston Drenthe.

The Mirror Mourinho is being pushed to take the player by all of his backroom scouting staff - many of whom are Dutch.

Drenthe will be cleared to speak to Chelsea after the weekend when the Holland Under-21 side are clear of their commitments but most insiders believe that the transfer will go through without a hitch.
