Chelsea slash ticket prices to bring them in

Chelsea hope to boost their next Champions League crowd by slashing ticket prices.

The Sun says in a bid to keep up the numbers, Blues are asking punters to shell out just £99 for a 3-course meal, top match ticket, programme, team sheet and snacks for the visit of Atletico Madrid on October 21.

The same deal normally costs £225 and will also include early admission and late departure.

Blackburn's visit three days later and the Carling Cup tie with Bolton on October 28 also offer the knockdown price.

Chelsea slashed the prices for the Champions League group match against Porto to £24.50.

The ploy paid off with almost 39,500 watching boss Carlo Ancelotti's side win 1-0 in the Group D opener last month.

It can cost up to £64 for a Premier League game and the fear is that supporters will not continue to pay big bucks for the high number of Euro and Prem matches.
