Chelsea skipper Terry will play through pain against Portsmouth

Chelsea skipper John Terry refuses to be rested for their FA Cup tie with Portsmouth.

The skipper is determined to play tomorrow as Blues are without crocked Branislav Ivanovic and will not pick transfer-listed Alex.

First-team coach Roberto Di Matteo admitted: "John Terry has been playing with a knock on his knee and there is an issue there.

"He had to play with an injection against Wolves on Monday but it's manageable and we don't think it will be a long-term problem.

"We'll have to see how painful it is after training on Saturday and then decide if he can play. We want to play our strongest available team.

"But we're not expecting many back from injury and Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou have both gone to play in the African Nations Cup."
