Chelsea captain John Terry says the playing group have to take a good hard look at themselves following their trophyless season.
The Blues were unable to defend their title whilst failing in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League but in the wake of manager Carlo Ancelotti's sacking, Terry says the players really have to shoulder the blame for a fruitless campaign.
"We have to learn from where we went wrong this year. I think there were a lot of things," he told Chelsea TV.
"It's okay when things are going well but when they are not, everyone has to have a good look at themselves.
"We are having a good break which will be the first time we will get four weeks off for a while and it could be good coming into next season, but we must make it work and start the season well.
"We haven't played as well as we could have at a lot of times."
