Chelsea skipper Terry: We must stop Torres

Chelsea captain John Terry admits it's critical stopping Liverpool striker Fernando Torres in tonight's Champions League semi.

Terry told reporters at Anfield: "They've always had the backbone of Stevie and Carra, and that's been tremendously important for them. But now they've added Torres and he gets goals.

"Torres is a very good player. His movement is fantastic and the likes of Stevie and the other midfielders can find him at any time.

"We'll have to be very good defensively and if we can keep Torres and Stevie quiet we should be okay.

"Benitez has bought very well in the last few years. They are a great team who work together. That's what we need to show on Tuesday night."

Terry added: "It's obvious that the fans are great here and I can't sit here and lie about that. It's to our advantage now that the second leg is at Stamford Bridge and this is an opportunity for our fans to show how loud and aggressive they can be.

"We've got to use that to our advantage, because Liverpool have in those past two years."
