Chelsea skipper Terry urges Joe Cole not to get carried away

Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed he has to reign in Joe Cole as he makes his much-anticipated comeback.

He told The Sun: "Joe Cole was back on the bench against Porto in midweek. He feels like a new signing because he has been out for nine months, which was very frustrating.

"Like Wayne Rooney he can change a game as an individual. It's not just Chelsea that has missed him but England as well. You could see the fans' reaction when Coley warmed up against Porto and that tells you everything about how he has been missed.

"But I have had to give him a little bit of advice. Coley wants to run round at 100mph on his first day back in training and fly into tackles and do what he was doing nine months earlier.

"It's important for myself and Lamps to have a word and calm him down a bit because we have to keep him on a leash.

"He can be a bit of a nightmare but that's a great thing about his character because he just wants to play football."
