Chelsea skipper John Terry asked to be substituted for the sake of the team in their amazing Champions League triumph over Napoli.
The Daily Star says Terry asked to be taken off in the 98th minute when he felt cramping and pain in a calf.
With the game being just his second in six weeks - he had knee surgery last month - the Blues skipper feared his lack of fitness could cost the club dearly.
So he asked to come off in stoppage-time and watched from the sidelines as Branislav Ivanovic, who moved into his position, claimed the winner for the west Londoners.
