Chelsea skipper Terry tells Capello: I'll make England game

Chelsea skipper John Terry has assured England boss Fabio Capello he's available for this week's friendly against Germany in Berlin.

He is determined to play after missing last month's World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus through injury. Terry hurt a foot in Chelsea's 3-0 win at West Brom - but joined up with the squad after also having a scan.

No long-term damage was detected and the defender is cautiously optimistic he will be able to play.

Terry said: "As I landed, I got shoved awkwardly and I felt a sharp pain in the bottom of my foot.

"With me having to pull out of the last squad I'm desperate to go and play with England. As captain I want to be there."

Chelsea boss Phil Scolari is a big supporter of his players turning out for their country.

The former Brazil and Portugal manager said: "It is important for players to play for their country. It is good for our club."
