Chelsea skipper John Terry remains hopeful of regaining the England captaincy.
Terry was axed from the role by coach Fabio Capello after allegations about his private life hit the headlines, with the armband handed to Rio Ferdinand.
"When I had the meeting with the manager it was obviously difficult to take," Terry told Football Focus. "But at the same time I respected him and I told him that nothing changes, I'll still give 100%. I took it on the shoulders and moved on, there's no point in dwelling on it."
He added: "The only way I can go about my business is to play well, hopefully be in the side at the World Cup and hopefully one day get that (captaincy) back."
