Chelsea skipper John Terry had praise for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling and Bolton Wanderers' Gary Cahill after England's victory in Bulgaria.
The newcomers impressed alongside Terry in defence.
Terry said: "I was delighted for Gary. He has done very well the last couple of years.
"To play and get his first goal for England would have been special for Gary and everyone was pleased for him.
"Chris was very comfortable. Even in the dressing room beforehand he looked very assured and confident in himself.
"I thought he put in a very good performance."
