Chelsea skipper John Terry says he'll be fit for England's opener against France.

Terry had been a doubt for Monday's Group D opener amid fears the hamstring injury suffered against Belgium last weekend was not properly healed.

But yesterday he said: "I am fit - that is straight from the horse's mouth. I trained today with no problem."

Terry also said he would be happy to play on the right side of central defence against the French.
