Chelsea captain John Terry did consider retiring from international football last month, it has been revealed.
The People says Terry seriously considered quitting England after being stripped of the captaincy last month.
The Chelsea skipper discussed giving up international football with pals as the storm raged over his alleged affair with Wayne Bridge's former partner Vanessa Perroncel.
Terry told friends: "I can't deal with this", before he took a week-long break from Chelsea to hold showdown talks with wife Toni in Dubai.
But, after Terry was cheered at the end of England's 3-1 midweek win over Egypt, he is said to be in a good frame of mind heading towards the World Cup.
