Chelsea skipper Terry: Arsenal lack English spine

Chelsea captain John Terry has told Arsene Wenger his Arsenal team has fallen short because they lack an English spine.

"You need an English backbone - that force, that togetherness, that pulling together," said Terry. "That's what the English players have. It's why Arsenal might come up short in the run-in."

If Arsenal lose to Manchester United on Sunday, they will be out of the title race. That will leave a straight fight between United and Chelsea.

Terry added: "I'm driven by wanting to improve myself and after watching Manchester United win the title last season. It hurt me that we gave it back to them, that we lost. It hurt more than anything else."
