Chelsea skipper John Terry wants any England player unhappy with his captaincy to say so to his face.
While he expressed his displeasure at what he clearly believes has been a whispering campaign against him, the Chelsea defender said he would respect players who objected to the move by telling him personally.
"When the manager confronted us before training he said I was going to be captain again and asked the players if they had any questions," said Terry.
"Nobody spoke; nobody said a word to the manager or to me.
"If somebody does have a problem, I would respect them coming to me in person. There are certain players at clubs who don't get on with each other. We know that. That's life.
"But I would respect people if they came to me personally rather than hearing things, or listening to people on the TV. People thinking they know the facts."
