Chelsea signing Olivier Giroud admits Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's arrival convinced him to leave Arsenal.

Giroud concedes Arsenal's swoop for the former Borussia Dortmund star was enough to force him out.

He told Telefoot: "Without the arrival of Aubameyang I could have stayed, I could have stayed yes. But I need to have solutions to return to playing. I wanted to stay in the Premier League and Chelsea was a great opportunity for me.

"There was a form of disappointment, of course. You can understand it. Even though I spent five and a half years at Arsenal, it made sense to give my career a new impulse and find a new challenge."
