Chelsea are hoping to sign a second and perhaps even a third Benfica player this summer.
The Blues have already snapped up Brazilian midfielder Ramires and now have their sights set on defender Fabio Coentrao.
The 22-year old Portugal international has emerged as a player high on Chelsea's transfer list as they ponder the situation involving Ashley Cole and his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.
Coentrao was impressive in the World Cup and has attracted interest from around Europe but it now seems as though the reigning Premier League champions are serious in their pursuit.
Chelsea are also keen on Coentrao and Ramires' Benfica teammate David Luiz.
